Cemetery, Bene Atarot

Pre-dug burial plots, planned pathways, covered plazas for eulogies… how can these elements, typical of newer cemeteries be integrated into an older, rural, cemetery?
In determining the degree of change appropriate for the cemetery and the materials to be used, every effort was made to preserve the simplicity and modest feel of the place. A system of concrete paths lined with vegetation serves to divide the cemetery into “rooms”, while also connecting it to the immediate surroundings – a wooded grove of the nearby Templar cemetery.
