Daniel Hotel, Herzliya
With the goal of refreshing the outdoor spaces of this long-standing hotel, our re-design encompassed an essential overhaul of the hotel’s gardens. We sought to strengthen the seaside locational advantage of the hotel and use our design to beckon the sea inward.
The renewed pool area resembles a ship’s deck. Access from the hotel down to the pool deck was reconfigured to face the sea. At the edge of the pool area, abutting the cliff, we created an additional wooden deck situated slightly below the pool level. This sunken sun deck allows for unobstructed visual continuity between the pool and the sea, and also serves as an intimate panoramic overlook and sunbathing spot.
The far end of the contiguous deck areas opens to the hotel gardens. A series of terraced, multi-level decks connect the indoor convention and event spaces to the sea-facing outdoor gardens. The redesigned hotel entrance area, along with a new commercial area creates a system of plazas and squares connecting the city, the hotel and the sea.
