The Desert Edge, Mitzpe Ramon

The Desert Edge, Mitzpe Ramon

The Desert Edge is part of a large project to develop and strengthen tourism and promenades around Mitzpe Ramon.
The project lies between the settlement of Mitzpe Ramon and the edge of the crater to the east, highway 171 to the west and the Negev Mountain Reserve to the south. The Zin stream runs through the area, and many valleys drain into it and it is characterized by a desert landscape of hills, valleys and ancient terraces with a combination of agricultural farms and vineyards.
In the heart of the peaceful and quiet area, the goal of the project is to develop a language unique to this desert and to enable all users to connect and adapt to the nature of the desert while using the site's unique characteristics to create concealment and discovery, light and shadow, knowledge of history and archaeology.
The project connects and strengthens the existing farms in the area and those that will be established in the future, as well as the recently developed bike path.
